2008 Highlights dos

I had just gotten done speaking in San Diego, CA at a place called Camp Surf for a church from Pheonix, AZ. It was a great week of meeting new people and seeing God work in peoples lives around me, and in me at the same time. I then flew from San Diego, to San Francisco, to Oregon to meet up with my wife and kids who were already there to visit Tauni’s side of the family. When I arrived at the airport, I was so tired because of the previous week, and the 12 hours of airports and airplanes. I was so excited to see my family. I was pumped to see my wife when she came through the doors. I was so home sick to see her, that I was close to tears. I was a little disappointed though, after my first example, that my kids were not there to greet me with the enthusiasm of before.
That night made up for it. We were all sleeping in the same room, had 2 beds and 2 mattresses on the floor. The kids were a little crazy, and I missed them so much that I laid down between them to separate them, and to hold them as they went to sleep. They both snuggled into me, as they, and I, went to sleep. I woke up a couple of times during the night realizing that I was falling into the crack between the mattresses, but didn’t care because I was loving being with my family.
Unfortunately, I do not always feel that way when I am around them all the time, but time away just shows me more and more how much I love them.
