30 Hour Famine Day 2

What an unexpected turn of events this day had for me. I spent late morning and early afternoon with a friend of mine, just reconnecting. That was a good thing.

The unexpected was when God began to change the message He had for me to deliver in the evening at The Famine. It is funny to me that the thing that I have always struggled with is having everything ready to go for each place I am going to be. That has been my struggle in ministry forever. So I am getting to the point where I am for the most part ready, and yet God has recently been changing things and making me wait on the exact thing. For instance, I had exactly what I was going to speak about this evening till this morning, when God started to change the topic, and the direction.

Last week, I had a couple of ideas for the Lock-in, and came up with what seemed to be the perfect one as I continued to listen to God all the way up to the end. The same thing with preaching at Lisbon. I had a couple I wanted to do, and God gave me the go ahead on the way to church. It turned out to be the exact one that the church needed to hear, from the feedback that I got.

It is nerve racking to me to get up and not have the whole thing thought out completely, and when I mean completely, not having enough time to at least have an order of where I would like to go, knowing it won't always be in that order, and when I don't have my computer with me up front, not always remembering what is coming next.

The jury is still out on what the folks at Damascus thought about tonight, and yet it is exactly what God wanted me to speak.

Let God rock your world,
Scott

30 Hour Famine

I arrived in Damascus, OH last night to speak at a 30 hour famine event that continues through this evening. I cannot give an exact number but somewhere around 140 students and 30 adults.

Last night I spoke to the group after an awesome worship set by a band called the One80 band.

Towards the end of the talk, I asked if anyone wanted to for the first time say that they were sorry for the things that they have done wrong and want to follow Jesus with everything that they are to stand up on the count of three. When I got to three there were around 15-20 people that stood. It was amazing. I then opened it up and asked people to be unsatisfied with thier relationship with Christ, because it was not about following a bunch of rules and laws, but about developing a relationship with God. That doubled to trippled the number standing. God was definitely present and moving.

As Alex the Youth Pastor said when he came up, "God always meets us where we are at." That is what happened.

Doing it for Him,
Scott

The Experience- A night of worship Take 2

I would like to invite you to our next worship time called “The Experience”. We had our first time a couple of weeks ago on January 13, and it went well. The worship band was amazing. They led us into the presence of God.

The purpose of The Experience is a time of worship that is designed to do two things: to release the power and freedom of the Holy Spirit, and to break down the walls of the established church and to come together as one to all worship the same God.

What I mean by break down the walls of the established church is that we do not need to be so separate as church entities that we neglect and be part of the larger body of Christ. I believe that we need to have churches to belong to, and participate in, and serve in, but we are failing to see and experience God in a much larger capacity. We have been limited by: resources, people, talent and our previous experience. Let us come together, with other denominations and Body’s of Christ, and worship as THE CHURCH.

I believe God shows up when His people give Him praise and show Him adoration. Let us use this as a time not only to experience God for ourselves, but also as a chance to ask God to release his Spirit on the areas around us and to see people attracted to HIS CHURCH. It is when God shows up, that people begin to wonder what is going on. Let us be the generation, the people that begin a quest in those around us to search for the living God.

I invite you to be part of something that I truthfully do not know how it is going to turn out. But, God’s word says,

“I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

“Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”
Matt. 18:18-20

Please consider being part of what I feel God is calling His Church to do.

The dates of these times will be:
Sundays
March 2
April 6
and Saturday
May 10

They will go from 5:00 to 7:00 at:
Water of Life
3750 Sulivant Ave.
Columbus, Ohio 43228

The Lead Worshipper is Jeff Stuttler. He has spent the last couple of years in Kansas City and Nashville learning to both lead worship and to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

All ages are welcome and encouraged, but just to let you know that the music is geared toward college students and teenagers: guitar, keyboard, bass and drums. This past one was loud, yet worshipful. We will provide childcare.

If you are seeing this and would like to participate or would like more info, please email me at scott@scottbiddle.com.

The Experience- A night of Worship

Worship is what we were created to do. The problem is,
we usually worship the wrong things.

I have been se
nsing that God wants us to worship together. This is looking beyond church walls and denominations. I look around and see churches competing with each other. When I was a pastor, one of the biggest questions that other pastors asked was, "how many people do you have?" That was annoying to me. I understand people want to know how you are doing, but I felt like the reason people asked was because it was always about numbers. I don't think we were meant to be so segregated. We have separate churches to lead people to Christ in our own area, but the Spirit of God is in each church. Let us come together and Worship the One Spirit.

The Experience, is a chance for churches to get together to Worship God corporately. As one. Jeff Stuttler, a gifted guitarist and singer, will be leading us into the presence of God. He has spent time in Kansas City and Nashville studying both to lead worship, and to listen to the voice of God. Please join us in this adventure.
